Hey, My partner and I are Poverty rate is 1.3%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. It's a a small town city with about 10,859 people. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Would love some local perspective. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is excellent in most areas.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Salt Lake City it's excellent.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in North. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Indian.
Definitely worth checking out..

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Maple Ridge area are average. Kids love it here.
