Quick question about Mammoth Lakes

We have two kids and Homes are going for about $657,000 on average. Median household income is $87,121, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $87,121 in Mammoth Lakes. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. dating scene used to be much wild but now it's excellent.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Tampa about 10 years ago. The main reasons were family and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are wild, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'm a physical therapist and I've found it exceeded my expectations. The community is decent and there's always something going on.

Bought a house here in 2019 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Moved here from Houston about 14 years ago. I have mixed feelings honestly. Still getting used to traffic but Happy to answer more specific questions..

Came here for school and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor recreation is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in North. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in government. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
