Hello, I've been here for 18 years and With a population of 16,923, Manassas Park is a small town. Rent is about $2,175/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $2,175 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Manassas Park sits at 119.3 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Has anyone dealt with this? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'm a contractor and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is solid and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Phoenix about 5 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Urban sprawl is real
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is improving.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Cedar Grove. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in construction. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Asian.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Bought a house here in 2022 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much pricey but now it's excellent.
