So, I relocated for work and It's a a smaller city city with about 36,561 people. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Any advice would be great. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Moved here from Minneapolis about 13 years ago. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Still getting used to walkability but No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Portland about 4 years ago. The main reasons were work and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is better than expected.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I work in retail here and it's been a really good experience overall. The job market for my field is average. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Highland. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in engineering. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like sushi.
