Considering Manchester vs Memphis -help me decide

Hey everyone, You can expect to pay around $1,357 for rent here. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Let me know your thoughts. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure
- The traffic scene is average

The downsides:
- Limited shopping options
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Maple Ridge. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in construction. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Thai.

No regrets on my end..

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much reasonable but now it's solid.

I've lived in South for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Diverse dining options
- The dating scene scene is tough

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Summers can be brutally hot

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
