Been meaning to ask this. The unemployment rate is 5.2%, which is about average. Household incomes average around $72,465 in Manchester. Median household income is $72,465, which feels about average for the area. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Cheers. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Fairview area are solid. Kids love it here.

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 15 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into running, this place is decent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The weather is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Eastside for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The job market scene is solid
The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Hope this helps!.

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Austin it's improving.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is underrated in most areas.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Came here for work and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The walkability is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
- The dating scene scene is average
The downsides:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..
