So, It's a a small town city with about 12,347 people. Household incomes average around $72,465 in Manchester. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What are your go-to spots? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

I've lived in Highland for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Affordable housing options
- The outdoor recreation scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Hope this helps!.

Bought a house here in 2016 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from Raleigh about 4 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is decent.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Happy to answer more specific questions..
