Is public transit usable in Manhattan Beach?

Alright, We're a young couple and Household incomes average around $193,904 in Manhattan Beach. Poverty rate is 2.9%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $193,904, which feels pretty solid for the area. You can expect to pay around $3,492 for rent here. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I've lived in Uptown for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- The dating scene scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely excellent and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Eastside) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
