Hey, Military spouse here. Poverty rate is 2.2%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $128,375 in Manhattan. The unemployment rate is 1.2%, which is pretty low. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 3 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are wild, gas is improving.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. No regrets on my end..
