I'm single, late 40s, and With a population of 10,315, Manhattan is a small town. The unemployment rate is 1.2%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,220 for rent here. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Used to live on the Downtown side, now on the Westside side. Completely different vibe. the quality of life is solid.
