First post here. Born and raised here. Household incomes average around $65,691 in Manila. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Worth the trade-offs? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Tampa it's hit or miss.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a electrician who relocated here from Minneapolis about 1 years ago. The main reasons were work and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Active local events and festivals
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are wild, gas is better than expected.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Chicago about 2 years ago. The main reasons were work and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is solid.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Good luck with whatever you decide..
