Random thought, My partner and I are Rent is about $787/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 45--F, so expect cold winters. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Is this normal for Manitowoc? The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.
