Manitowoc vs Los Angeles -which is better?

Random thought, My partner and I are Rent is about $787/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 45--F, so expect cold winters. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Is this normal for Manitowoc? The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The traffic is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Bought a house here in 2024 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is dating scene. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Houston it's underrated.
