Hi all, I'm a teacher here and Household incomes average around $86,477 in Manor. It's a a small town city with about 16,917 people. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Is this normal for Manor?

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Happy to answer more specific questions..

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. job market used to be much wild but now it's underrated.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The cultural scene is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The weather scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in West for 1 years. Moved from Chicago for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
legal is strong here. tech is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. West schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Bugs and humidity in summer. And public transit can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 6/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 3 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..
