What's it really like living in Manor?

Been meaning to ask this. Just moved here 13 months ago and You can expect to pay around $1,446 for rent here. The median home value here is around $333,800, which seems about average. Average temperature is around 70--F, so the weather is moderate. The unemployment rate is 5.5%, which is about average. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Good schools
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Cold winters
- Rising rent prices
- Not very walkable
- High property taxes
Is this normal for Manor? The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. the quality of life is solid. Internet is underrated in most areas.

Bought a house here in 2024 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely pretty good and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Westside) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
