Unpopular opinion about Manorville

So, Median household income is $135,695, which feels pretty solid for the area. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Does this match your experience? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 8 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (North) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Came here for weather and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The walkability is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Bought a house here in 2019 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

I'm a teacher and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is better than expected and there's always something going on.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- The cultural scene scene is average

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Winters are long and cold

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Good luck with whatever you decide..
