Thinking about relocating to Mansfield from Dallas
Random thought, I work in manufacturing and The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The food scene is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 10 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Came here for school and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The public transit is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely pretty good and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Downtown) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
