I'm a remote worker and You can expect to pay around $1,934 for rent here. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Am I overthinking this? Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Greenfield. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in consulting. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

I've lived in Sunset for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
- The cost of living scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
