Raising a family in Manvel -thoughts?

First post here. Born and raised here. The unemployment rate is 4.8%, which is about average. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I wrong here? Appreciate any input. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Greenfield for 15 years. Moved from Dallas for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
construction is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Can feel isolated. And nightlife can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 8/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The cultural scene is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Midtown for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
- The community vibe scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Definitely worth checking out..
