Is Manville getting better or worse?

Homes are going for about $321,100 on average. Rent is about $1,837/month for a decent place. The city has invested a lot in new development. Has anyone dealt with this? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Baltimore it's hit or miss.

Bought a house here in 2023 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a project manager, 30, moved here 2 years ago from San Francisco. I've lived in Springfield and Eastside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Strong job market in several industries
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not a lot of cultural diversity
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The outdoor recreation situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Springfield: Great for families. improving vibes, walkable.
- Eastside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Francisco, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $40K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

The food scene here is surprisingly good. Tons of great Mediterranean places. it was the best decision I ever made.
