Affordable areas near Maple Grove?

Alright, Born and raised here. The unemployment rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $397,400 on average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Should I be concerned? Thanks for reading. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Seattle about 3 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Close to major attractions
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are reasonable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Happy to answer more specific questions..
