Hey folks, Just moved here 9 months ago and The unemployment rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What do you all think? The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Seattle about 13 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is pretty good.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.
