Considering Maple Heights vs Denver -help me decide
Hey folks, We have two kids and The median home value here is around $89,600, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 23,350, Maple Heights is a small town. The weather takes some getting used to. Am I overthinking this? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a sales manager, 26, moved here 5 years ago from Salt Lake City. I've lived in Pine Hills and The Heights, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Good schools in most areas
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The outdoor recreation situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Pine Hills: Great for young professionals. decent vibes, walkable.
- The Heights: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Salt Lake City, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $60K-$100K here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from New York about 14 years ago. The main reasons were family and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong job market in several industries
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Urban sprawl is real
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are wild, gas is average.
