Starting a business in Mapleton?

The unemployment rate is 1.9%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $1,392/month for a decent place. Median household income is $127,860, which feels pretty solid for the area. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Lakewood. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in marketing. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
