Is Maplewood good for remote workers?

Random thought, I work in insurance and Rent is about $1,316/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Thanks! The city has invested a lot in new development.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Phoenix about 12 years ago. The main reasons were weather and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Nightlife is limited

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Highland area are pretty good. Kids love it here.
