My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is cultural scene. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

I work in tech here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is decent. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from New York about 8 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Four distinct seasons
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are pricey, gas is tough.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Came here for weather and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The cost of living is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.
