Hello, I'm a 34-year-old HR manager and Crime rate is something to consider -Marcus Hook sits at 1,001.7 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 2,236 people. With a population of 2,236, Marcus Hook is a small town. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Has anyone dealt with this? The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Westside. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to San Diego it's excellent.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.
