Honest thoughts on life in Margate

My family moved here when I was a kid. Rent is about $1,662/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $60,852 in Margate. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What are your go-to spots?

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely better than expected and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Highland) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
