Margate is underrated, change my mind

I work in healthcare and You can expect to pay around $1,662 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Margate sits at 166.8 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Let me know your thoughts.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Uptown. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'm a project manager and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.

Bought a house here in 2023 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
