Starting a business in Margate?

So, I'm retired and Poverty rate is 7.8%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $60,852 in Margate. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What do you all think? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I've lived in Old Town for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The weather scene is decent

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to New York it's underrated.

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in East. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in education. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Italian.

No regrets on my end..

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Pine Hills for 13 years. Moved from Seattle for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
government is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is tough - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Can feel isolated. Dating scene is rough. And pet-friendliness can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 5/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
