Random thought, We're a young couple and Homes are going for about $338,600 on average. Rent is about $1,919/month for a decent place. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Cedar Grove. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in construction. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..
