Curious what people think. The median home value here is around $338,600, which seems about average. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. What would you do? The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from Atlanta about 11 years ago. The main reasons were work and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Close to major attractions
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are competitive, gas is pretty good.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the East side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.
