Hey, With a population of 62,986, Maricopa is a smaller city. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Should I be concerned?

I work in construction here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is underrated. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want weather, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Portland about 4 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are competitive, gas is average.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I work in legal here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is solid. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much competitive but now it's pretty good.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.
