Honest thoughts on life in Marietta

Alright, Rent is about $1,491/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 7.9%, which is pretty low. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in North for 5 years. Moved from Phoenix for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is average - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. North schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Property taxes are high. Not a lot of cultural diversity. And job market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 8/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the Highland side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 2 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into running, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Pine Hills. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Asian.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Downtown. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Hope this helps!.
