Hey everyone, Born and raised here. It's a a smaller city city with about 61,773 people. The unemployment rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Boston about 13 years ago. The main reasons were family and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are developing, gas is better than expected.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Hope this helps!.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Westside. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Asian.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

The food scene here is decent. Tons of great sushi places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Pittsburgh it's hit or miss.
