Best neighborhoods to rent in Marietta?

Anyone else feel this way? I relocated for work and Rent is about $828/month for a decent place. It's a a small town city with about 13,282 people. The median home value here is around $145,700, which is actually reasonable. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Good job market
- Friendly people
- Strong sense of community
- Walkable downtown

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Limited nightlife
- Limited dining options
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Poor road conditions
It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The housing market is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely underrated and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Fairview) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Austin it's solid.

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport with direct flights
- The walkability scene is average

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a writer, 46, moved here 10 years ago from Tampa. I've lived in Midtown and Maple Ridge, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Decent public transit for the size
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The walkability situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Midtown: Great for families. solid vibes, walkable.
- Maple Ridge: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Tampa, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $80K-$130K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
