Marietta housing prices -when will it stop?
First post here. I'm single, late 40s, and Median household income is $45,986, which feels on the lower side for the area. It's a a small town city with about 13,282 people. The unemployment rate is 3.0%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. With a population of 13,282, Marietta is a small town. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.
Pros:
- Great weather
- Growing food scene
- Strong sense of community
- Walkable downtown
Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- Not very walkable
- Mosquitoes and humidity
Am I overthinking this? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.
