What Marietta does better than anywhere else

Curious what people think. I'm retired and Median household income is $48,300, which feels on the lower side for the area. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Looking forward to hearing from you all. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Bought a house here in 2019 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

I work in government here and it exceeded my expectations. The job market for my field is excellent. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in The Heights for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- The public transit scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Eastside. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in construction. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Meadowbrook. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in government. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
