I'm originally from Cleveland and Rent is about $2,105/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $760,800, which is pretty steep. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. Am I overthinking this? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Greenfield. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in finance. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Thai.
No regrets on my end..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a HR manager, 45, moved here 5 years ago from Denver. I've lived in West and Fairview, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Close to major attractions
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Urban sprawl is real
3. The nightlife situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- West: Great for retirees. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Fairview: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Denver, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$140K here.
**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I'm a lawyer and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.
