Been meaning to ask this. I relocated for work and Rent is about $1,689/month for a decent place. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Miami about 3 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is underrated.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Feel free to reach out with questions..
