What surprised you most about Marlboro Village?

Hey folks, I grew up here but left for a while. The median home value here is around $364,700, which seems about average. Homes are going for about $364,700 on average. It's a a small town city with about 9,200 people. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Pros:
- Growing food scene
- Close to nature
- Easy commute
- Lots of new development
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Not very walkable
- Not enough green space
Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I work in manufacturing here and I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market for my field is improving. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Lakewood for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons
- The pet-friendliness scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. No regrets on my end..

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Pine Hills for 8 years. Moved from San Francisco for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
government is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not a lot of cultural diversity. Can feel isolated. And safety can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 5/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much developing but now it's hit or miss.
