Been meaning to ask this. The unemployment rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 41,398 people. You can expect to pay around $1,721 for rent here. Rent is about $1,721/month for a decent place. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Thoughts? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 7 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.
