Marlborough quality of life -am I missing something?
Longtime lurker here, I've been here for 2 years and It's a a smaller city city with about 41,398 people. Rent is about $1,721/month for a decent place. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Does this match your experience? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

I've lived in The Heights for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- The nightlife scene is tough
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Property taxes are high
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Eastside. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in tech. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like sushi.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Nashville about 7 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is challenging.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. No regrets on my end..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The traffic is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Bought a house here in 2022 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.
