Curious what people think. I'm originally from Houston and The median home value here is around $485,400, which is pretty steep. Homes are going for about $485,400 on average. Household incomes average around $95,047 in Marlborough. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Worth the trade-offs? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely solid and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Eastside) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 6 years ago. The main reasons were weather and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Rising rent and home prices
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are established, gas is challenging.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.
