Is it worth buying in Marlene Village?

First post here. Military spouse here. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. Rent is about $1,758/month for a decent place. It's a a small town city with about 5,391 people. The median home value here is around $499,300, which is pretty steep. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Used to live on the Uptown side, now on the Lakewood side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Bought a house here in 2023 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, the quality of life is solid. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
