Job market in Marlin for tech?

I grew up here but left for a while. The median home value here is around $49,800, which is actually reasonable. The unemployment rate is 7.0%, which is concerning. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Bought a house here in 2021 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

I've lived in Old Town for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The nightlife scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Winters are long and cold

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
