What to expect moving to Marquette Heights?

Hey folks, Been living here since 2009. It's a a small town city with about 2,613 people. The median home value here is around $121,600, which is actually reasonable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

The food scene here is challenging. Tons of great Mexican places. I love the pace of life here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 13 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.
