Longtime lurker here, The unemployment rate is 2.9%, which is pretty low. With a population of 20,691, Marquette is a small town. Crime rate is something to consider -Marquette sits at 126.2 per 100K. Rent is about $958/month for a decent place. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
