Marshalltown quality of life -am I missing something?

Curious what people think. My partner and I are Household incomes average around $68,854 in Marshalltown. The unemployment rate is 3.0%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Marshalltown sits at 388.9 per 100K. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Nice parks and trails
- Good schools
- Diverse community
- Lots of new development

Cons:
- High property taxes
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Not enough green space
What are your go-to spots? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to Tampa it's better than expected.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The cost of living is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
