Couple moving to Martinez from out of state

OK so I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Crime rate is something to consider -Martinez sits at 214.5 per 100K. Rent is about $2,265/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 62--F, so the weather is moderate. It's a a smaller city city with about 36,926 people. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Has anyone dealt with this? Appreciate any input. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Used to live on the Pine Hills side, now on the The Heights side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.
