Things Martinez needs to improve

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a teacher here and Poverty rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Martinez sits at 214.5 per 100K. Median household income is $125,436, which feels pretty solid for the area. Average temperature is around 62--F, so the weather is moderate. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Does this match your experience? The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

I've lived in Eastside for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good internet infrastructure
- The safety scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
